Job Description

This position is a senior healthcare project specialist responsible for leading design and planning efforts, providing technical expertise, mentoring team members, and ensuring project quality and client satisfaction within an architectural firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead healthcare projects as a subject matter expert, focusing on team and client leadership.
  • Develop innovative solutions and responses to evolving research needs.
  • Collaborate with project teams to provide technical expertise in programming and planning.
  • Lead user group meetings to gather and refine program needs and assess space utilization.
  • Communicate planning concepts to project teams, clients, and owners through reports and presentations.
  • Work with architectural designers to optimize plans that meet owners' goals.
  • Translate planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients and project team members.
  • Develop, modify, and review planning concepts and solutions.
  • Create architectural drawings and specifications to translate planning into construction documentation.
  • Develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process.
  • Incorporate sustainable design solutions into projects.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and potential clients.
  • Provide guidance and advice to other designers and project leaders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering or a related degree
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience performing as a subject matter expert on projects
  • Previous experience working on projects ranging from large, complex, or multiple projects for the healthcare market
  • Knowledge of building codes and requirements
  • Must have advanced knowledge in the discipline
  • Must possess business acumen
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to be client facing
  • Ability to lead less experienced team members
  • Familiarity with Revit, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam software
  • Must be able to develop project scope, plan, and services during the contract process
  • Must be able to develop, modify, and review planning concepts and solutions
  • Must be able to lead the development of architectural drawings and specifications for project documentation
  • Must have experience incorporating Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects
  • Must have knowledge of and experience with programming and planning for healthcare projects
  • Must have experience leading user group meetings to collect and refine program needs and assess space utilization
  • Must have the ability to communicate planning concepts effectively to project teams, clients, and owners verbally, graphically, and in written reports
  • Must have the ability to translate planning concepts into comprehensible terms for clients, designers, and project team members
