The role involves electrical systems design and project management for building construction projects across various sectors, working under a licensed engineer, and contributing to project planning, design development, documentation, and site visits within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning sessions and lead as needed
Perform electrical systems design for building construction
Develop design goals and specify electrical equipment
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
Review and mark up shop drawings and submittals
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
Bachelor or Master’s degree in Engineering required.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience required.
Experience in electrical engineering systems design for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, higher education, and commercial clients per applicable codes.
Ability to prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Experience in specifying electrical equipment.
Experience in performing quality control checks of engineering documents and layout systems regarding components and parts.
Experience in reviewing and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
Experience in responding to RFIs and reviewing change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Experience conducting job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
Ability to attend and participate in construction meetings.
Proficiency in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, SKM Power Tools.
Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Must be willing to work remotely within the U.S., with a preference for candidates located in or near Arlington, VA; Baltimore, MD; Boston, MA; Buffalo, NY; Chicago, IL; Dallas, TX; Denver, CO; Los Angeles, CA; San Diego, CA; St. Louis, MO; or Pittsburgh, PA.
