Job Description
This position involves electrical engineering design and project management for building construction projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, and commercial, with responsibilities such as creating construction documents, overseeing site visits, and guiding project teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in project planning sessions and lead project engineering responsibilities
- Initiate and develop electrical system designs for building construction
- Design electrical systems such as lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems
- Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
- Guide less experienced team members in executing drawings
- Specify electrical equipment and perform quality control checks on engineering documents
- Review and markup shop drawings and submittals
- Respond to RFIs and review change orders during construction
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
- Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of 6 years of related experience in electrical engineering.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States.
- Must possess working knowledge and experience in electrical engineering systems design, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, higher education, and commercial clients.
- Experience in preparing construction documents including drawings and specifications.
- Experience reviewing and markup of shop drawings and submittals.
- Experience responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and reviewing change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
- Ability to conduct job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
