This role involves electrical systems design and project management for building construction projects across various sectors, working under senior engineers, and participating in all phases from design to site visits, with a focus on collaboration and adherence to codes and standards.
Key Responsibilities
Participate in project planning sessions and lead as needed
Perform electrical systems design for building construction projects
Prepare construction documents including drawings and specifications
Guide less experienced team members in drawing execution
Specify electrical equipment and conduct quality control checks
Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders
Conduct site visits to verify conditions and observe construction progress
Attend and participate in construction meetings
Requirements
Minimum of 6 years of related electrical engineering experience required.
Current Professional Engineer (PE) license in the United States required.
Experience in electrical systems design for building construction, including lighting, power distribution, signaling, communications, and telecommunication systems for healthcare, education, higher education, and commercial clients, per applicable codes.
Proficiency in preparing construction documents including drawings and specifications.
Ability to review and markup shop drawings and submittals, and respond to RFIs and review change orders in the preparation of construction documents.
Experience conducting job site visits to verify existing conditions and observe construction progress, including physical walk-through of sites.
Ability to attend and participate in construction meetings.
Experience in guiding less experienced team members in execution of drawings.
Knowledge of specifying electrical equipment and completing quality control checks of engineering documents and layout systems.
Experience participating in value engineering sessions with Architectural Engineering teams to recommend improvements with reference standards and processes.
Ability to perform project engineering responsibilities, including initiating project designs, developing design goals and systems, and adhering to financial and work goals.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Proficiency in computer applications for engineering design programs such as Revit, AGI32, Visual, and SKM Power Tools.
