Job Description
The Vice President of Project Development at Brightcore Energy leads and manages complex geothermal energy projects from inception to contract completion, overseeing technical, financial, and stakeholder engagement aspects to ensure successful project delivery and business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee multidisciplinary geothermal development projects, ensuring adherence to budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
- Coordinate internal and external teams to meet project timelines and maintain clear communication with clients and stakeholders.
- Develop and oversee communication strategies for complex geothermal projects, including client presentations and stakeholder engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with end-user clients and stakeholders to understand needs and address concerns.
- Communicate project development processes and milestones clearly to clients and stakeholders.
- Gather and synthesize geological, engineering, and financial data to inform project decisions.
- Articulate project financials, including capital and operating expenses, to clients.
- Navigate regulatory requirements, incentive programs, and grant opportunities relevant to geothermal projects.
- Develop and implement sales strategies, build client rapport, and identify new project opportunities.
- Manage the geothermal project pipeline to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 10-15 years of professional experience in supervisory, sales, project management, project implementation, or similar roles.
- Background in or experience working with renewable energy project development, real estate development, MEP engineering, environmental engineering, construction project management, architecture, or a comparable field.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical, engineering, financial, and regulatory documents, including drilling reports, cost estimates, thermal conductivity reports, site plans, specification packages, and grants.
- Demonstrated expertise in navigating complex approval processes.
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders, technical disciplines, and regulatory requirements.
- Experience with managing client-facing projects to a schedule.
- Proficiency with project management software, CRM, and communication platforms for performance tracking, transparent information sharing, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities to communicate with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills with experience in stakeholder management.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, both internal and external.
- Ability to manage a pipeline of projects to meet or exceed sales and revenue targets.
- Willingness to work a minimum of 30 hours per week to maintain full-time status, with an expectation of an average of 40 hours per week including overtime as scheduled.
- Must be located in Colorado, Michigan, Illinois, or Minnesota to meet travel requirements.
- Travel required up to 25% within the Midwest region.
- Pre-employment background check including employment verification, criminal history check, and drug screen.
- Compliance with drug and alcohol-free workplace policies, including prior drug and alcohol testing records for safety-sensitive roles as per DOT regulations 49 CFR 40.25.
- Ability to work in a remote office setting with hybrid work options (up to two days per week remote work with supervisor approval).

Base salary range of $180,000-$200,000 with potential for uncapped quarterly commissions
