Job Description
Assist with geothermal drilling operations by supporting equipment setup, maintenance, safety protocols, and routine tasks to ensure efficient and safe drilling activities for renewable energy projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with daily geothermal drilling operations, including setting up and operating drilling equipment
- Monitor and maintain drilling equipment, troubleshooting as needed
- Handle and prepare drilling tools, pipes, and related equipment
- Transport equipment and materials to and from the drill site
- Follow safety protocols and ensure worksite compliance with health and safety regulations
- Support operation of mud systems, pressure control equipment, and other drilling systems
- Keep accurate records of drilling activities, progress, downtime, and equipment performance
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on tools and equipment
- Support team with general labor tasks such as rig setup, managing materials, and maintaining a clean work environment
- Communicate effectively with the drilling team and report issues to supervisors
Requirements
- High School Diploma required.
- Must have an OSHA 30 SST card.
- Flagger certification strongly preferred.
- Must have an active Driver's License with the ability to obtain a CDL.
- Prior experience operating drilling equipment is a must.
- Understand and follow utility locate law and compliance procedures, safety protocols, instructions, and quality regulations.
- Five (5) years of construction and/or drilling experience in NY, NJ, CT, or MA.
- Experience with geothermal heat pumps.
- Must be willing to work a minimum of thirty (30) hours each week to maintain full-time status for benefits purposes, with an expectation of an average of forty (40) hours per week including overtime as scheduled.
- Travel required 100% in the greater Northeast Region of the United States, including CT, MA, NY, ME, VT, NH, NJ, MD.
- Must be willing to be away from home Monday through Friday with scheduled Saturdays, with lodging provided for overnight stays.
- This position is primarily based in the greater Baltimore, MD area for a specific project.
- Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, which include working in a safety-sensitive environment and meeting physical requirements necessary for drilling operations.
- Must pass a pre-employment background check, criminal history check, and pre-employment drug screen, including compliance with DOT regulations 49 CFR 40.25 for safety-sensitive duties.

Hourly rate range of $37.00 - $42.00 with eligibility for overtime
Work schedule of at least 30 hours per week, averaging 40 hours with overtime
