Job Description
The Staff Software Engineer, Full Stack Fleet Intelligence at Aurora is responsible for designing and leading the development of scalable web services and data systems that enhance autonomous vehicle operations and fleet optimization, while providing technical leadership and mentorship across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and drive strategic initiatives to build scalable full-stack web services for real-time and offline data flows.
- Provide technical leadership and influence best practices across multiple teams.
- Develop and deploy robust web solutions, including frontend frameworks, backend services, APIs, and data pipelines.
- Mentor and grow senior engineers through code reviews and design discussions.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and drive complex projects.
- Translate operational data and autonomy metrics into actionable insights via operator-facing tools and APIs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 8 years of industry experience in software development, with a proven track record of designing, building, and operating large-scale full-stack systems.
- Deep expertise in both front-end and back-end development, including scalable web services, distributed systems, and modern API design.
- Demonstrated experience in a leadership role, driving technical strategy, influencing architectural decisions, and mentoring senior engineers.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively partner with cross-functional teams and present technical solutions to a diverse audience.
- Proficiency with cloud infrastructure and DevOps practices, including AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and monitoring alerting systems.
