Job Description
A Staff Product Designer at Aurora is responsible for designing the end-to-end user experience for the Command Center overseer tools, enabling safe and efficient monitoring and management of autonomous trucks in real-time, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop innovative operational workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end design of the Command Center overseer experience for monitoring autonomous truck activity.
- Identify and resolve high-priority pain points in operations monitoring and intervention workflows.
- Create high-fidelity prototypes to communicate system status and intentions across digital touchpoints.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to develop solutions supporting fleet operations.
- Present design rationale to leadership and contribute to design process improvements.
Requirements
- 8 years of experience in product design, with a track record of leading complex, multi-workstream projects
- A portfolio of exceptional product design and craft
- Experience designing operational tools, dashboards, or workflow management systems
- Strong interaction design skills with a high bar for visual design
- Ability to translate complex, evolving information architectures into intuitive and functional user experiences
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and drive cross-functional alignment with minimal support, identifying problems others might miss
