Job Description
The Staff Power Architect at Aurora is responsible for designing, developing, and testing electrical power systems for autonomous vehicle hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure high-performance and reliable electronics that meet automotive safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and design electronics for Aurora's custom hardware, focusing on power architecture.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams to gather requirements and define hardware power systems.
- Model, integrate, test, and debug power electronic circuits on the bench and within systems.
- Support the development of test infrastructure to ensure product quality, coverage, and yield.
- Participate in the productization process, including build, test, and manufacturing support for electrical designs.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering.
- Six (6) years of experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware.
- Expertise in power architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, and analog electronics.
- High proficiency and ability to analyze systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI EMC constraints.
- Extensive experience with hardware productization at the system, board, and chip level implementation.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to manage PCB layout and leverage Power Signal simulation and emulation input.
- Experience with hardware testing and troubleshooting using lab instruments such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, DMMs, power supplies, and E-loads.
- Ability to collaborate with electrical, mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature high-quality electrical designs to manufacturing, including supporting test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targets.
