Job Description
The Staff NPI Test Engineer at Aurora supports manufacturing testing and automation for self-driving vehicle hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize test procedures, analyze data, and ensure the quality and safety of autonomous vehicle technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Support manufacturing from a test and automation perspective in production of hardware
- Debug and optimize software tools used in manufacturing tests and provisioning
- Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to improve automated test procedures
- Manage and analyze production test data to track performance metrics and identify issues
- Provide technical test support to manufacturing areas, locations, and customers
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience in data collection with electronic test equipment and data-acquisition systems.
- Prior verification, validation, and testing experience with emphasis on debugging skills.
- Ability to read design drawings and wiring schematics.
- Experience programming in Python.
- Experience working with Linux operating systems.
- Experience with Google Suite, JIRA, JAMA, and GIT.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to support manufacturing from a test and automation perspective in the production of hardware.
- Experience in manufacturing test development and sustaining efforts at scale.
- Experience in supporting and debugging software tools used in manufacturing tests and provisioning.
- Data management and analysis skills to track production test performance metrics, prioritize issues, and drive continuous improvement activities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for conveying test status and results, including writing formal test reports.
- Ability to collaborate closely with manufacturing and engineering teams to harden and optimize automated manufacturing test procedures.
- Willingness to undertake international travel to contract manufacturers (CM) for on-site bring-up and support.

Base salary range: 181,000 - 262,000 per year
