Job Description
The Vehicle Reliability Technician supports the autonomous vehicle fleet by troubleshooting hardware and software issues, performing calibrations, and collaborating with engineering teams to improve vehicle performance and reliability during third shift operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and track issues in the autonomous vehicle fleet.
- Provide technical support for software and hardware problems encountered by vehicles.
- Perform root cause analysis for software and hardware faults.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and product teams to improve vehicle performance and fault reduction.
- Triage vehicle issues by analyzing data and supporting engineering teams in identifying corrective actions.
- Create run books to standardize and accelerate troubleshooting processes.
- Perform sensor calibrations, fleet upgrades, and platform bring-up activities.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience with the Linux Operating System in a support and troubleshooting capacity.
- Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills from inception through documentation and closure.
- Experience working with various complex hardware and software systems including lidar, radar, cameras, and computers.
- Detail oriented self starter with strong desire to learn new skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across different teams, offices, and time zones.
- Ability to wear different hats and quickly multitask.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Ability to support and troubleshoot issues related to software or hardware on autonomous vehicles.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis for common software and hardware faults across all platforms.
- Ability to collaborate with engineers, operations, and product teams to improve product performance, drive down faults, and maximize test efficiency.
- Experience in triaging vehicle issues, providing data, analysis, and support to engineering teams to determine root cause and corrective actions.
- Experience in creating run books to facilitate standard and accelerated troubleshooting.
- Experience in sensor calibrations, fleet upgrades, and new platform bring-up.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $37.00 - $47.00 per hour
Work schedule: Third shift, 6 PM - 4 AM CST
Work environment perks: Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
