Job Description
Aurora is seeking Summer 2026 Software Engineering Interns to work on developing and improving self-driving vehicle technology, focusing on areas such as systems software, autonomy sensing, planning, control, and developer experience, in a collaborative and innovative environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to impactful software projects related to autonomous vehicle systems.
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to design, implement, and test software components.
- Participate in the development of autonomous driving algorithms, sensor data processing, and safety analysis.
- Contribute to the build, deployment, and integration of software tools and systems for autonomous vehicle development.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Graphics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and develop production quality software in C and/or Python.
- Experience in writing robust, intuitive, high-performance code as demonstrated through previous internships, work experience, research projects, or conference publications.
- Passion for solving challenging, impactful problems as part of a team, and a win-together mindset.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Interns pursuing an undergraduate degree must be pursuing an undergraduate degree, and interns pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree must be pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree, respectively, with hourly pay rates corresponding to their education level and location as specified.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $52.00/hour (undergraduate, Mountain View), $58.00/hour (master's, Mountain View), $65.00/hour (doctoral, Mountain View); $47.00/hour (undergraduate, Pittsburgh), $52.00/hour (master's, Pittsburgh), $58.00/hour (doctoral, Pittsburgh)
Work schedule: Internship duration (implied summer 2026), flexible based on project and team
