Job Description
Aurora is seeking Summer 2026 Software Engineering Interns to work on developing and improving autonomous driving technology across various teams, including perception, planning, and developer experience, with a focus on impactful projects that enhance safety, performance, and reliability of self-driving systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and contribute to impactful software projects related to autonomous vehicle systems.
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to design, implement, and test software solutions.
- Participate in the development of safety-critical systems and analyze data to derive system requirements.
- Work on sensor data processing, localization, mapping, and perception algorithms for autonomous driving.
- Contribute to planning, control, and decision-making algorithms for vehicle actions.
- Assist in building tools, dashboards, and simulation environments to support autonomous vehicle development.
Requirements
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Robotics, Computer Graphics, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to read and develop production quality software in C and/or Python.
- Experience in writing robust, intuitive, high-performance code as demonstrated through previous internships, work experience, research projects, or conference publications.
- Passion for solving challenging, impactful problems as part of a team, and a win-together mindset.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the internship.
- Interns pursuing an undergraduate degree must be available to work in Mountain View, CA or Pittsburgh, PA, with hourly pay rates of $52.00 and $47.00 respectively.
- Interns pursuing a master's degree must be available to work in Mountain View, CA or Pittsburgh, PA, with hourly pay rates of $58.00 and $52.00 respectively.
- Interns pursuing a doctoral degree must be available to work in Mountain View, CA or Pittsburgh, PA, with hourly pay rates of $65.00 and $58.00 respectively.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $52.00-$65.00 per hour depending on degree pursued and location
