Job Description
The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead the planning and execution of large-scale infrastructure programs within Aurora's Tech Foundations organization, collaborating with engineering teams to develop and implement technical roadmaps, manage cross-team dependencies, and ensure the delivery of critical cloud and data platform infrastructure to support autonomous vehicle technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, de-risk, and execute the long-term technical roadmap in collaboration with engineering leaders.
- Lead the delivery of large-scale infrastructure programs across multiple teams and organizations.
- Design and implement a program management framework to enable coordinated planning, execution, and communication.
- Engage in architectural discussions to understand technical designs, challenges, and risks, and propose technical solutions.
- Establish processes for tracking and communicating program status, risks, and milestones to stakeholders.
- Collaborate on staffing plans and resource allocation to support project priorities and trade-offs.
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, successfully shipping complex software infrastructure or platform products.
- Deep, hands-on experience with modern, large-scale infrastructure, such as cloud computing platforms AWS, GCP, automated data pipelines, CI/CD and developer tooling, or distributed compute systems.
- Demonstrated ability to grasp complex technical concepts and facilitate discussions between senior engineering teams on topics like system architecture, design trade-offs, and operational readiness.
- Proven expertise in tailoring and applying project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, or Kanban to fit the needs of complex, R&D-focused teams.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to bridge gaps between technical and non-technical teams.
