Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer - Vehicle Platform will work on vehicle-specific integration, testing, and safety verification of Aurora's self-driving technology in collaboration with OEM partners, ensuring vehicle platform safety and performance for autonomous systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Interface with OEM partners' vehicle platforms and provide vehicle-specific functional integration support.
- Develop and execute on-vehicle test plans to verify hardware and software performance.
- Investigate fleet field issues and collaborate with teams to identify technical or operational solutions.
- Own and deliver evidence supporting vehicle platform safety and performance claims.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience with vehicle testing and data analysis, including use and customization of automotive specific tools.
- Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing and troubleshooting CAN network architectures.
- Proficiency in Vector tool CANAlyzer for testing, data acquisition and troubleshooting of vehicle level systems and components.
- Knowledge of developing Design Validation Plans (DVPs) for automotive sub-systems and components based on system level requirements.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and executing experiments on electrical, mechanical, and software systems, including vehicle level testing of fail-operational redundant systems.
- Knowledge of various test modalities that can be used to test mechatronic systems including Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing and Unit Testing, to specify a particular modality given the test objective.
- Demonstrated experience in organizing and analyzing large quantities of data, tracking results, and maintaining repeatable test setups through clear documentation and automation of processes such as batch data plotting, automated test sequences, and verification progress dashboards.
- Demonstrated experience in managing requirements and verification databases.
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Mechatronics.
- At least 3 years of experience in Autonomous Control Systems, Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), or Automotive industry.
