Job Description
The Senior Staff Graphics Pipeline Engineer at Aurora is responsible for leading the development and implementation of large-scale 3D graphics and synthetic data pipelines, primarily using Python and USD, to support autonomous vehicle technology and data ecosystems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical implementation of cross-functional projects, translating stakeholder requirements into robust code.
- Architect and implement foundational Python frameworks, services, and APIs for the synthetic data ecosystem.
- Drive the adoption and standardization of USD as the core data backbone for the pipeline.
- Act as the lead developer and subject matter expert on complex pipeline challenges, debugging issues and engineering scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Expert Python development skills with proven experience in architecting and building large-scale 3D graphics or procedural content generating pipelines.
- Deep, practical production experience with Universal Scene Description USD.
- Solid understanding of computer graphics fundamentals.
- 7 years of experience building or contributing significantly to large-scale graphics production pipelines.
- Ability to lead the technical implementation of cross-functional projects, translating stakeholder requirements into robust code.
- Experience architecting and personally implementing foundational Python frameworks, services, and APIs that form the core of a synthetic data ecosystem.
- Hands-on experience frequently writing and deploying code.
- Ability to drive the adoption and standardization of USD as the core data backbone for the pipeline.
- Experience acting as the lead developer and subject matter expert on complex pipeline challenges, debugging deep technical issues, and engineering scalable solutions.
