Job Description
The Senior Manager of Release Management at Aurora is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing software releases for autonomous driving systems and connected services, ensuring timely, high-quality, and safe deployment across a fleet of vehicles while collaborating with cross-functional teams and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute software releases for autonomous driving systems and connected services.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track and ensure successful software release processes through testing and validation phases.
- Define and implement release management processes, tooling, and infrastructure to ensure reliable and efficient software updates.
- Facilitate communication and coordination among teams and external partners regarding release schedules, status, and change management.
- Support release readiness reviews, go/no-go decision making, and incident management related to software releases.
Requirements
- 7-10 years of experience in software release management or release engineering for complex systems with both software and hardware components.
- Experience operating at the intersection of product delivery, customer needs, and release management.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with experience tracking releases through development, test, and deployment phases.
- Experience with continuous integration and release automation systems such as Buildkite and GitHub.
- Experience orchestrating cross-team efforts to address bugs and issues to resolution.
- Communication skills suitable for a broad range of audiences including executives, individual engineers, larger technical teams, operations teams, and external partners.
- Experience supporting incident management and rollback planning related to software releases.
