Job Description
The Senior Electrical Engineer at Aurora is responsible for developing and integrating electronics for custom hardware, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, test, and bring high-quality electrical systems from concept to manufacturing in the autonomous vehicle industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop electronics for Aurora's custom hardware
- Gather requirements and define hardware architecture in collaboration with internal and external teams
- Build, integrate, test, and debug electronics on the bench and in systems
- Partner with mechanical, operations, and validation teams to mature electrical designs for manufacturing
- Support test infrastructure development to meet product coverage and yield targets
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree with a focus in electrical or computer engineering.
- At least 4 years of experience in industry developing complex electrical hardware.
- Expertise in system architecture, signal and power integrity design and analysis, high speed signaling, grounding, and analog electronics.
- High proficiency in analyzing systems for balancing electro-mechanical and EMI/EMC constraints.
- Extensive experience with hardware productization at the system, board, and chip level implementation.
- Strong electrical engineering fundamentals supported by the use of CAD tools to capture schematic designs, manage PCB layout, and leverage Power Signal simulation and emulation input.
- Proficiency with lab instruments including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, digital multimeters (DMMs), power supplies, and electronic loads (E-loads).
