Job Description
The Program Manager I, Development Testing Operations at Aurora is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing development testing activities for autonomous vehicle technology, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and alignment with engineering goals in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with Engineering, Safety, and Operations to develop and refine testing plans and milestones based on development requirements.
- Review and validate test requests for clarity and feasibility to ensure successful first-time execution.
- Translate technical blockers into actionable reports and process improvements during testing.
- Identify and advocate for operational tools, hardware diagnostics, and infrastructure support needed for testing.
- Define and manage operational readiness criteria for new features or hardware, ensuring safety and documentation are prepared.
- Track progress, dependencies, and risks in testing activities, escalating issues with recommended solutions.
- Maintain program documentation, timelines, and status reports for stakeholders.
- Drive process improvements and capture lessons learned to enhance testing workflows.
Requirements
- Three years of experience in Program Management, Project Management, Product Operations, Technical Operations, or a related role.
- Ability to develop a functional understanding of hardware software stacks, including how sensors, calibration, and software versions interact to impact vehicle behavior.
- Demonstrated experience with change management principles and successfully driving process improvements within an organization.
- Experience supporting technical or development programs in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams and competing priorities.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills, with comfort coordinating across technical and non-technical teams.
- Safety-focused mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in environments where safety is a core requirement.
- Flexible schedule with the ability to work days, nights, and/or weekends when required.
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.
Benefits & Perks
Base salary range of $83,000 to $120,000 per year

Hybrid work environment with in-office presence at least 3 days per week
