Job Description

A Senior Software Engineer responsible for developing and optimizing high-performance, real-time software for hardware-in-the-loop testing platforms used in autonomous vehicle validation, with a focus on system integration, cloud tooling, and ensuring platform stability and scalability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and develop core Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) software for autonomous vehicle testing platforms.
  • Design and implement high-performance, real-time software interfaces and drivers connecting the autonomy stack to hardware test rigs.
  • Build scalable tooling, APIs, and cloud integration solutions for hardware testing automation and analysis.
  • Lead technical design reviews to evaluate system architecture, communication protocols, and simulation fidelity.
  • Debug and optimize low-level system performance issues involving latency, jitter, and synchronization across hardware components.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, architectural documentation, and technical guidance.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of professional software development experience building complex, low-latency systems or high-scale infrastructure products.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Modern C++ (C++14, C++17, C++20).
  • Deep understanding of memory management, multi-threading, and performance optimization in C++.
  • Strong experience with Python or Golang for building automation pipelines, CLI tools, or data processing services.
  • Proven experience with systems integration involving software that interacts with physical devices, hardware peripherals, or complex networking protocols.
  • Expert knowledge of the Linux environment, including kernel-space and user-space communication, drivers, and system-level troubleshooting.
  • Experience managing cloud infrastructure and observability tools, with familiarity in cloud services such as AWS or GCP.
  • Experience developing high-performance, real-time software interfaces and drivers that bridge the gap between autonomy stack and hardware test rigs.
  • Ability to design and implement scalable tooling, APIs, and automation frameworks in cloud environments for scheduling, executing, and analyzing hardware-locked tests.
  • Experience leading technical design reviews and evaluating system architecture, communication protocols, and simulation fidelity to ensure platform stability.
  • Ability to debug complex, low-level integration issues involving latency, jitter, and synchronization across distributed hardware components including sensors, ECUs, and compute units.
  • Experience conducting rigorous code reviews, documenting architectural patterns, and mentoring mid-level and junior engineers.
