Job Description
A Civil Structural Engineer PE is responsible for leading and executing civil and structural engineering design for oil and gas infrastructure projects, including pipelines, facilities, and supports, ensuring compliance with codes and standards, and collaborating across disciplines to support project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead civil and structural engineering design for oil and gas infrastructure projects
- Develop construction documents including structural plans and details
- Perform structural analysis under various loading conditions in accordance with applicable codes
- Review and approve engineering calculations, drawings, and reports
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate structural requirements
- Conduct field visits to verify as-built conditions and gather site data
- Mentor junior engineers and support team development
- Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource allocations
- Support quality assurance by implementing QA/QC procedures
Requirements
- Must be a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
- Must have at least 7 years of experience in civil structural engineering for oil and gas facilities or similar industrial infrastructure.
- Must have experience supporting structural design and engineering for the Oil and Gas industry, including pipelines, pump stations, compressor stations, terminals, and process facilities.
- Proficient in structural analysis software such as STAAD.Pro, RISA, SAP2000, or similar.
- Working knowledge of CAD software tools including AutoCAD, CADWorx, and Civil 3D.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; a Master's degree is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of applicable design codes including AISC, ACI, ASCE, API, and IBC.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
