Civil Engineer - Land Development (Entry)

The Civil Engineer I supports the Land Development team in the planning, design, and delivery of residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects. This role is responsible for preparing engineering designs, technical documents, and permit applications while collaborating with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically proficient, and eager to apply fundamental engineering principles to real-world land development projects. • Collaborate with project team members and clients on land development projects under the direction of senior staff. • Prepare preliminary and final site plans, engineering calculations, reports, permit applications, and supporting project documentation for review by senior staff. • Assist with due diligence efforts, including site analysis, zoning reviews, utility evaluations, engineer’s opinions of probable cost, and project scheduling. • Research and interpret local and state zoning ordinances, development regulations, and design standards. • Conduct site visits and field investigations as required. • Review survey data and existing site information, including legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easement documents, and existing infrastructure conditions. • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D and other engineering software to develop design plans and technical deliverables in accordance with company quality standards. • Respond to agency and client review comments by revising plans and supporting project resubmittals. • Assist senior staff with communication and coordination efforts involving clients, agencies, utility providers, and project stakeholders. • Manage assigned tasks and workload effectively while communicating project needs, priorities, and schedule impacts to Project Managers and Directors. • Apply sound engineering judgment and fundamental civil engineering principles to support project objectives.
