Job Description
The role involves designing residential, commercial, and industrial site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D, including tasks such as site layout, utility and stormwater management, permitting, and supporting project development from conceptual design to construction. It requires collaboration with team members, client communication, and potential involvement in business development efforts.
Key Responsibilities
- Design site plans using AutoCAD Civil 3D and prepare conceptual site layouts and grading analyses
- Develop and compute reports such as site analysis, utility calculations, stormwater management, and earthwork analysis
- Assist in producing final construction drawings and prepare permit applications for municipal agencies
- Collaborate with project team members and other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
- Support project managers and communicate with clients regarding project specifics
- Attend client and public meetings, including evenings or weekends as needed
- Participate in business development efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited four-year college or university
- 0-2 years related experience in engineering or a similar field
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is a plus
- Valid driver's license
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to interact with a variety of people
- Ability to respond quickly and accurately under pressure
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Fluency in the English language
- Availability to work nights and weekends to complete projects as necessary
- Physical ability to frequently sit and talk or hear, occasionally stand, walk, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
- Willingness to work in outside weather conditions occasionally for extended periods
