Job Description

A Senior Tax Manager role responsible for leading private client services, helping clients optimize their tax strategies, and contributing to a fast-growing, innovative CPA and advisory firm with opportunities for professional growth and a collaborative culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee complex private client tax engagements
  • Provide strategic tax planning and consulting for high-net-worth individuals
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Review and approve tax returns and related documentation
  • Lead and mentor junior staff and team members
  • Develop and maintain client relationships to identify tax opportunities
  • Stay current on tax laws and industry developments affecting private clients

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax, with at least 3 years in a managerial or senior management role within a CPA or advisory firm.
  • Proven expertise in providing tax planning, compliance, and consulting services to high-net-worth individuals and private clients.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations applicable to private client services.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team of tax professionals, including overseeing work quality and providing mentorship.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members, including the ability to explain complex tax concepts clearly.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement tax strategies that maximize client opportunities and minimize liabilities.
  • Experience with tax software and technology tools relevant to private client services.
  • Ability to handle multiple client engagements simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Physical ability to perform work in an office environment, including sitting for extended periods and using standard office equipment.
