Job Description

A Senior Manager in Customs Tariffs at Aprio will lead and manage customs tariff strategies, providing expert guidance to clients to optimize their import/export operations and ensure compliance with regulations within a dynamic and growth-oriented advisory firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee customs tariffs compliance and planning for clients.
  • Advise clients on customs regulations, duties, and international trade policies.
  • Develop strategies to optimize clients' customs duties and tariffs.
  • Coordinate with clients and internal teams to ensure accurate customs documentation and filings.
  • Stay updated on changes in customs laws and trade agreements affecting clients.

Requirements

  • Possess at least a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience working in customs tariffs, trade compliance, or a related area.
  • Demonstrate expertise in customs tariffs, trade regulations, and international trade compliance.
  • Have experience working with a CPA or advisory firm, preferably in a tax or customs-related capacity.
  • Possess strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex trade and tariff regulations.
  • Have the ability to develop and implement customs tariff strategies for clients.
  • Be capable of managing and leading projects related to customs tariffs and trade compliance.
  • Possess excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with clients and team members.
  • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Have a thorough understanding of U.S. customs laws, regulations, and procedures.
  • Be proficient in relevant software tools and systems used for customs and trade compliance.
  • Be willing to work in a collaborative team environment and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
