Job Description
The Sensor Software Engineer will evaluate, integrate, and deploy sensor technologies, particularly camera and vision systems, and develop perception software to enhance the autonomy and robustness of mobile robotic platforms. The role involves bridging hardware and software, designing validation pipelines, and collaborating across teams to improve system performance and scalability.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate, integrate, and deploy sensor technologies for robotic platforms
- Assess new sensor modules, especially camera and vision systems, and provide technical analyses and recommendations
- Design and implement perception software in C++17 and Python with a focus on architecture, maintainability, and scalability
- Bridge hardware and software by understanding sensor characteristics, calibration, and system interdependencies
- Drive spatial intelligence features from concept to deployment
- Collaborate with hardware, platform, and product teams to ensure system-level alignment
- Develop data-driven validation pipelines to improve system robustness
Requirements
- Independently assess new sensor modules, particularly camera and vision systems, and provide structured technical analyses and clear recommendations for adoption across current and next-generation robots.
- Design and implement reliable, production-grade perception software in modern C C 17 and Python, contributing to large, modular codebases with a strong focus on architecture, maintainability, and long-term scalability.
- Have a deep understanding of sensor characteristics, calibration, runtime behavior, and system-level interdependencies to effectively bridge hardware and software.
- Scope work effectively, drive technically challenging spatial intelligence features from concept to deployment, and collaborate closely with hardware, platform, and product teams to ensure system-level alignment.
- Design data-driven validation pipelines using metrics, visualization, and structured testing to continuously improve system robustness.
- Possess the legal right to live and work in Spain, with a preference for residing in Barcelona or being open to relocation, as this is not a remote position.
