Job Description
The role involves leading the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function at Amperity, focusing on financial modeling, forecasting, and providing strategic insights to support business growth and decision-making, with an emphasis on integrating AI to improve processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and maintain the FP&A function, including financial modeling, budgeting, and scenario analysis.
- Develop a business partnering function to enable department leaders to make informed budgeting and resource decisions.
- Own the forecasting process, systems, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Analyze and report monthly financial results, highlighting key issues, risks, and business drivers.
- Partner with operations and leadership to monitor KPIs and provide insights on business performance.
- Prepare and present financial insights to leadership and investors.
- Support special projects and ad hoc analyses such as fundraising, M&A, and integration activities.
- Research industry financial benchmarks and educate stakeholders.
- Identify and prioritize projects based on available resources and strategic value.
- Apply AI to improve the efficiency and accuracy of FP&A systems and processes.
Requirements
- 15 years of experience in a quantitative discipline, including 5 years of direct FP A experience in a fast growing private company and or a public company, ideally in the software industry
- Proven ability to develop business partnerships across organization
- Experience modeling in and maintaining FP A systems
- Strong Excel modeling skills
- Strong PowerPoint presentation skills
- Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
- Highly inquisitive, with a strong attention to detail
- Experience developing and maintaining a 3 statement profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement financial model and other driver-based models, including budget vs. actuals, scenario analysis, and returns on investment
- Ability to lead FP A function, including processes and systems related to forecasting, budgeting, and decision support
- Ability to deliver monthly analysis and reporting of business financial results, including variances to plan, and highlight key issues, risks, and business drivers
- Ability to partner with Operations and leadership to monitor KPIs and deliver insights regarding business performance
- Experience preparing and presenting insights to key stakeholders including leadership and investors
- Experience supporting finance leadership with special projects and ad hoc analyses including fundraising, M&A, and integration
- Ability to research industry financial performance benchmarks and educate internal stakeholders
- Ability to assist the organization in identifying and prioritizing projects considering available cash and resources
- Willingness to embrace AI and lead in applying AI to FP A systems and processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
- Strong modeling skills in FP A systems
- Experience working closely with Operations teams in GTM and Product Engineering to measure business health through financial and non-financial indicators
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work environment with three days in the office each week
