A Senior Full Stack Engineer at Amber will develop and support energy automation technologies, including home device integrations, customer web and mobile apps, and real-time energy pricing systems, to help accelerate the adoption of renewable energy solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and support home automation integrations for batteries, hot water systems, pool pumps, and upcoming EVs.
Create and maintain mobile web applications for customers to monitor and manage energy usage.
Design and implement a real-time pricing and billing engine for energy data.
Work with a tech stack including React Native, React, AWS Lambda, Typescript, Apollo GraphQL, DynamoDB, and Postgres.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable energy automation solutions.
Contribute across the full technology stack, providing support wherever needed.
Requirements
Experience as a Full Stack Engineer with the ability to work across multiple layers of the technology stack, including front-end, back-end, and integrations, with a willingness to contribute wherever needed.
Proficiency in developing and supporting home automation integrations to batteries, hot water systems, pool pumps, and EVs, with the ability to control electricity usage in response to pricing and renewable availability.
Experience developing mobile web applications for customers to monitor and manage their energy usage.
Experience developing and supporting a pricing and billing engine for real-time energy pricing.
Proficiency with the tech stack including React Native for mobile app development, React for web frontends, and a Serverless Lambda backend on AWS.
Strong knowledge of Typescript for full-stack development.
Experience working with Apollo GraphQL in the middle layer of the application architecture.
Experience working with data storage solutions such as DynamoDB and Postgres, and the ability to select the appropriate database for specific workloads.
Ability to work remotely within the UK, Ireland, or Germany with full working rights.
Availability to participate in core collaboration hours from 7am to 12pm Tuesdays and Thursdays London time, and to effectively manage time outside these hours.
Excellent communication skills, comfortable interacting with people as well as writing code.
Willingness to travel to London for the first week of onboarding and approximately every 2 months thereafter for team collaboration sessions.
Ability to work in a high-trust, transparent, and accountable remote environment, focusing on outcomes and impact rather than hours logged.
