Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia is responsible for developing and executing testing strategies, automating tests, and ensuring the quality and robustness of the company's software products, while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document testing activities including test planning, execution, automation, defect tracking, and release management
- Mentor and share best practices with the QA team
- Automate tests to prevent software regressions and perform manual testing on web and mobile platforms
- Document and report software defects, monitor bug resolution
- Conduct exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to troubleshoot issues and determine test coverage
Requirements
- Four (4) years of experience in a QA Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- A Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) or Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree is desired
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.
- Web browser UI automation testing experience written in Python or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Git, pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
- Ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and the ability to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Experience in manual testing of business and functional requirements on web and mobile platforms to find issues before release
- Experience in documenting software defects using a bug tracking system and reporting defects to software developers
- Experience in monitoring bug resolution and tracking successes
- Experience in performing exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Experience with mobile automation testing using Xcode or Android Studio is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced, challenging environment
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral
- The role can be remote in Mexico or a hybrid position requiring 1-2 days per week in the Reforma area of Mexico City
