Job Description

A DevOps Engineer responsible for building, operating, and improving a modern SaaS platform on AWS, focusing on automation, security, reliability, and efficiency through Infrastructure as Code, containerization, and emerging AI tools, in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, operate, and improve cloud infrastructure using AWS services such as ECS, EC2, RDS Aurora, SQS, SNS, Lambda, and CloudFormation.
  • Manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable platform capable of handling high-impact events.
  • Evaluate and implement automation and AI-assisted tools to enhance monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
  • Support the development and deployment of software through CI/CD pipelines and automation.
  • Collaborate with engineering and security teams to enforce best practices and improve platform stability.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of operational practices and platform reliability.

Requirements

  • A DevOps Engineer with solid experience building and operating services in AWS.
  • Experience writing Infrastructure as Code, building CI/CD pipelines, and managing complex production systems at scale.
  • Curiosity and forward-looking mindset regarding AI-assisted tooling and automation, with an interest in applying these capabilities to improve workflows, troubleshooting, operational effort, and software delivery.
  • Ability to develop deep familiarity with the AlertMedia platform and the AWS services that support it, including ECS, EC2, RDS Aurora, SQS, SNS, Lambda, CloudFormation, Docker, and Linux.
  • Experience managing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and Terragrunt.
  • Ability to help maintain a secure, reliable, and scalable platform that cannot fail during high-impact events.
  • Experience continuously evaluating and improving system security with a strong emphasis on data protection.
  • Ability to identify opportunities to use automation and emerging AI-assisted tools to improve monitoring, alerting, and operational visibility.
  • Experience reducing repetitive or manual operational work and supporting faster investigation and resolution of issues.
  • Experience evaluating, implementing, documenting, and maintaining tools that support Engineering and Operations.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment using tools like Git, JIRA, Jenkins, and Slack.
  • B.A. or B.S. degree (desired).
  • At least 3 years of experience managing cloud infrastructure in Amazon Web Services within an Engineering Software Development setting.
  • Experience with network, infrastructure, container orchestration, and application security best practices.
  • Strong expertise with Linux, Docker, containerization, and networking fundamentals.
  • Experience managing large-scale deployments.
  • Experience managing multiple AWS accounts and environments.
  • Experience implementing shift-left principles and quality automation in CI/CD environments.
  • Knowledge of authentication technologies such as SAML and OAuth.
  • Proficiency in at least one coding language, with Python being a plus.
  • Comfort utilizing AI coding assistants and modern software development practices.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability and desire to work in a fast-paced, challenging environment.
  • Position is open for remote work location in Mexico.
  • This role is not open to sponsorship.
