Job Description
A Software Engineer in Test II at AlertMedia is responsible for developing and executing testing strategies, automating tests, and ensuring the quality and robustness of the company's products through manual and automated testing, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable emergency communication solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document testing activities including test planning, execution, automation, and defect tracking.
- Create and maintain automated tests to prevent software regressions.
- Perform manual testing on web and mobile platforms to identify issues before release.
- Document and report software defects, monitor bug resolution, and track testing progress.
- Conduct exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize test coverage.
Requirements
- Four (4) years of experience in a QA Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- A B.A. or B.S. degree is desired
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.
- Web browser UI automation testing experience written in Python or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as git, pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
- Ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and the ability to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Experience in manual testing for business and functional requirements on web and mobile platforms
- Experience performing exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Ability to document software defects using a bug tracking system and report defects to software developers
- Experience monitoring bug resolution and tracking successes
- Experience troubleshooting with engineering and customer success teams to determine tests with the best coverage for use cases and customer trouble spots
- Proficiency in English, both written and oral
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment cross-functionally with Engineers and Product Managers
