Job Description
The Software Engineer in Test at AlertMedia is responsible for developing and executing testing strategies, automating tests, and ensuring the quality and robustness of the company's emergency communication products, working collaboratively within a fast-paced, agile environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and document testing activities including test planning, execution, automation, defect tracking, and release management.
- Mentor and share best practices with the QA team to ensure quality standards.
- Automate tests to prevent software regressions and perform manual testing on web and mobile platforms.
- Document and report software defects, monitor bug resolution, and track testing outcomes.
- Conduct exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness.
- Collaborate with engineering and customer success teams to troubleshoot issues and optimize test coverage.
Requirements
- 2 to 5 years of experience in a QA Testing role, preferably as a thought-leader or mentor on a team
- Experience with automation tools and frameworks such as Selenium, Cypress, Gherkin, etc.
- Web browser UI automation testing experience written in Python or JavaScript
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as git, pipelines, Jenkins, etc.
- The ability to work with large datasets in SQL or NoSQL databases
- Understanding of REST and the ability to thoroughly test APIs for functional or performance issues
- Experience in manual testing for business and functional requirements on web and mobile platforms to find issues before release
- Experience with exploratory and load testing to ensure product robustness
- Outstanding communication skills and the ability to effectively work cross-functionally in a fast-paced challenging environment
- English proficiency, both written and oral
- B.A. or B.S. degree desired
- This role can be remote in Mexico or a hybrid position requiring 1-2 days a week in the Reforma area of Mexico City
