Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in Android and backend development, responsible for building and maintaining customer-facing features for a smart security platform, collaborating across teams, and contributing to innovative IoT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain high-quality Android features and backend services
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver scalable customer-facing features
- Translate complex requirements into efficient, reliable, and secure code
- Develop features in native Android (Kotlin/Java) and backend (C/Java)
- Write unit and integration tests, validate features with QA, and monitor production performance
- Participate in code reviews, share expertise, and contribute to team documentation
Requirements
- 5 years of professional software development experience.
- B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering program.
- English proficiency with strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong hands-on experience building native Android applications using Kotlin or Java.
- Solid backend development experience in C and/or Java.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
- Experience with version control systems, specifically Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Ability to collaborate across teams and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Passion for delivering customer-facing applications that are performant, reliable, and intuitive.
