Job Description
The Site Operations Manager oversees safety, environmental, and operational systems at a large-scale battery energy storage site, ensuring reliable performance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement during the transition from construction to operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and oversee site safety, environmental, and operational systems during transition from construction to commissioning.
- Lead site safety initiatives, ensure WHS compliance, and develop safety, environmental, and emergency management plans.
- Act as the HV Operating Authority, manage electrical safety procedures, outage approvals, and maintain compliance records.
- Manage stakeholder engagement, including site tours and communication with internal and external parties.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance, equipment outages, and manage site spares inventory to ensure operational reliability.
- Oversee non-electrical site operations and maintenance, including facilities and utilities.
- Monitor and report on safety, environmental, and performance metrics.
Requirements
- Demonstrated capability in safety management and leadership, with a proven track record of leading teams in safety compliance, implementing safety plans, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Skilled in electrical operations and maintenance, with hands-on experience operating and maintaining high and low voltage systems, as well as proficiency in SCADA and maintenance management tools.
- Strong background in stakeholder management, with experience engaging a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, including technical, commercial, and executive groups.
- Proficient in systems development, with experience designing and embedding safety, environmental, and operational systems aligned with industry standards and best practices.
- The position requires site attendance during business hours at the Orana site located in NSW, with key local towns being Wellington, Dubbo, and Orange.
