Job Description

The Solutions Engineer at Affinity is responsible for demonstrating and integrating the platform's relationship intelligence capabilities to private equity and venture capital deal teams, translating technical features into business value, and supporting the sales process through technical pre-sales activities and security expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical sales process from initial demo to contract signing for growth, mid-market, and strategic opportunities.
  • Deliver persona-driven demonstrations that connect platform capabilities to deal sourcing, management, and closing processes.
  • Conduct discovery conversations to identify technical requirements, integration needs, and security considerations.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs with clear, compelling content highlighting platform strengths.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to shape deal strategies and influence technical decision-making.
  • Design and lead proof of value engagements to demonstrate measurable business impact.
  • Manage complex integrations and implementation planning in partnership with Professional Services.
  • Serve as the security expert during pre-sales activities, handling security questionnaires and compliance discussions.
  • Translate security requirements into clear responses to build buyer trust.
  • Contribute to and improve sales engineering assets, including demo scripts, battlecards, and objection-handling frameworks.
  • Share deal insights, product gaps, and competitive intelligence to inform product and go-to-market strategies.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with private equity, venture capital, or financial services with a clear understanding of how deal teams operate and what they care about.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or technical pre-sales role, ideally at a B2B SaaS company.
  • A track record of owning the technical sales motion including demos, proofs of concept (POCs), RFPs, and security reviews.
  • Fluency in SSO and IDP technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and SCIM.
  • Experience navigating InfoSec questionnaires and compliance conversations in enterprise sales cycles.
  • Exceptional communication skills capable of commanding a room with a CFO or engaging with a developer on API architecture.
  • Strong discovery instincts and comfort with value-based selling frameworks such as MEDDIC or similar.
  • A degree in Computer Science, finance, or equivalent practical experience.
