Job Description
The role involves leading and growing the product design team at Affinity, shaping the design strategy for enterprise software products, especially in AI-native environments, and collaborating with cross-functional leaders to deliver high-quality, impactful user experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and lead a high-performing product design team, including hiring, coaching, and growth.
- Set and uphold standards for design craft and quality across all product surfaces.
- Partner with Product and Engineering leadership on strategy, roadmap, and operating models.
- Translate design practice changes, especially related to AI, into team workflows and product outputs.
- Own the end-to-end design experience for enterprise products, including CRM workflows, mobile, and new areas.
- Establish processes and rituals to enable rapid, high-quality design delivery.
- Contribute to strategic planning and decision-making at the company level.
Requirements
- 10 years in product design, with at least 7 years building, coaching, and leading high-performing design and UX teams.
- A strategic mindset with the ability to connect design decisions to business outcomes, weigh trade-offs across short and long horizons, and influence company strategy.
- Deep experience designing enterprise software, understanding workflows, complexity, and stakes of building for professional users.
- Demonstrated taste and craft in interaction design, visual design, research, and product thinking, backed by a portfolio of work shipped or led.
- A track record of partnering closely with Product and Engineering leaders on both strategy and execution.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to rally a team, influence peers, and clearly represent design to non-designers.
- High empathy as a manager, with the ability to build trust, give direct feedback, and grow people.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation/salary range: $191,520 to $277,200 USD
Work location options: San Francisco, New York, or US Remote with a hub-hybrid model (2-3 days in-office per week for SF and NY)
