Job Description

The Solutions Engineer at Affinity is responsible for demonstrating and integrating the platform's capabilities to private equity and venture capital deal teams, supporting technical sales processes, and ensuring security and compliance considerations are addressed to drive deal success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical sales process from demo to contract for growth, mid-market, and strategic opportunities.
  • Deliver persona-driven product demonstrations tailored to private equity and venture capital deal teams.
  • Conduct discovery to identify technical requirements, integration needs, and security considerations.
  • Respond to RFPs and RFIs with clear and compelling content highlighting platform strengths.
  • Collaborate with Account Executives to shape deal strategy and influence technical decision-making.
  • Design and lead proof of value engagements to demonstrate measurable business impact.
  • Manage complex integrations and coordinate with Professional Services for implementation planning.
  • Serve as security expert during pre-sales, handling security questionnaires and compliance discussions.
  • Translate security requirements into clear responses to build trust with technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to team assets such as demo scripts, battlecards, and objection-handling frameworks.
  • Share insights on deal progress, product gaps, and competitive intelligence to inform product and strategy.

Requirements

  • Familiarity with private equity, venture capital, or financial services with a clear understanding of how deal teams operate and what they care about.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a Solutions Engineering, Sales Engineering, or technical pre-sales role, ideally at a B2B SaaS company.
  • A track record of owning the technical sales motion including demos, proofs of concept (POCs), RFPs, and security reviews.
  • Fluency in SSO and IDP technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and SCIM.
  • Experience navigating InfoSec questionnaires and compliance conversations in enterprise sales cycles.
  • Exceptional communication skills capable of commanding a room with a CFO or engaging with developers on API architecture.
  • Strong discovery instincts and comfort with value-based selling frameworks such as MEDDIC or similar.
  • A degree in Computer Science, finance, or equivalent practical experience.
