Job Description
The Manager, IT Site Lead will oversee the on-site IT team in India, managing technology processes and support systems to enhance employee experiences. This role involves leading IT operations, supervising technical projects, and collaborating with US leadership to deliver effective solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site managerial support to the India office operations specialist for basic Helpdesk user queries and office needs.
- Manage and support 2-3 on-site India-based IT specialists handling escalated IT Helpdesk tickets.
- Supervise a small engineering team in India overseeing IT automation, AI, and DevOps projects.
- Evaluate, innovate, and implement internal SaaS Engineering automation systems and AI projects.
- Conduct formal performance management and reviews for direct on-site India reports.
- Develop metrics and dashboards for operational performance reporting to business leadership.
- Stay updated with industry trends and evaluate their impact on the organization's application landscape.
- Manage technical requirements gathering and contribute to backlog grooming.
- Collaborate with other teams to design, implement, and integrate business applications.
- Champion and embed Samsara's cultural principles within the team.
Requirements
- A Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, engineering or related field.
- 10 years of experience in an IT Systems Engineering role, with at least some part of that managing small teams, preferably across Tier 3.
- 3 years experience working with identity management tooling, eg. OKTA, SSO, Google Workspaces, Slack.
- 3 years experience working with development and automation projects.
- Related experience in architecture, design, development, and implementation of highly scalable, high-volume software systems, applications and major SaaS solutions.
- Ability to spearhead and drive work without supervision across functions and collaborate with all levels of users and management, especially in a remote environment.
- Must be detail oriented, self-organized, be committed to quality and capable of tracking multiple work streams simultaneously.
- Ability to work in a fast-changing, dynamic, and agile environment, including the ability to manage time and maintain an excellent work ethic.
- Candidate must have mentoring and guidance skills to provide oversight and direction to contractors and internal members of the engineering team.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills are a must, as well as the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.
