Job Description
The Vendor Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining an efficient, cost-effective supply chain for fabrication and manufacturing suppliers across the EMEA region, ensuring timely delivery of quality products while managing supplier relationships, projects, and compliance standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a cost-effective supply chain for fabrication, bespoke components, and standard equipment across EMEA.
- Promote smooth project execution and improve inbound material and service supply proactively and reactively.
- Manage supplier relationships, including sourcing, validation, and development of fabrication and manufacturing suppliers.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and coordinate production planning.
- Lead root cause analysis and problem resolution for supply chain issues.
- Manage multiple projects by preparing and maintaining schedules.
- Negotiate contracts and develop supplier validation criteria.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, and HSE standards.
Requirements
- Experience in sourcing fabricated steel items and associated manufacturing operations.
- Background in fabrication procurement and supplier development.
- Good interpersonal skills that can be applied across a range of situations and cultures.
- Knowledge of fabrication and manufacturing processes and materials, including structural steel work, pipework and vessels and skids, rotating equipment, vessel manufacture to ASME VIII, PD5500, etc., and PED PE S R.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of production planning.
- Experience in the application of ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards and knowledge of HSE.
- Contractual awareness and great negotiation skills.
- Experience of managing multiple projects, including preparing and maintaining schedules.
- Proven track record of root cause analysis and demonstrable experience of leading problem resolution.
- Experience in developing and implementing supplier validation criteria.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized with the ability to accurately record and report on activity.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work remotely without direct supervision.
- Confident user of MS Office software, including MS Project.
- Able to drive and willing and able to travel as required.
