The Valve Engineer at Zeeco is responsible for providing valve expertise, reviewing project specifications, developing data sheets, coordinating with suppliers, and performing inspections to support global combustion and environmental solutions projects.
Key Responsibilities
Review project engineering and sales packages to determine equipment scope
Provide cost estimates for valves and inline piping components
Interpret and implement customer specifications for equipment
Develop relationships with global valve suppliers to ensure compliance and timely delivery
Create ISA data sheets for various types of valves and inline components
Coordinate with mechanical drafting team to ensure proper design dimensions and clearances
Perform inspection and testing of equipment prior to shipment, possibly with customer presence
Travel domestically and internationally to support sales, vendor meetings, and project sites
Requirements
B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
2 years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience in reviewing project engineering and sales packages to determine the scope of equipment to supply to customers
Ability to provide cost estimates for valves and other inline piping components
Experience reading customer specifications and implementing those specifications as they apply to the AS SOLD equipment
Ability to develop relationships with valve suppliers worldwide to ensure compliance with customer specifications, testing, and on-time delivery
Experience developing ISA data sheets for manual ball, gate, globe, and check valves, as well as ISA data sheets for control valves, automated valves, dampers, and various inline components
Ability to work with mechanical drafting team to ensure proper face-to-face dimensions and clearance in mechanical design
Experience performing inspection and testing of equipment prior to shipment from fabrication facility, including with customer presence
Willingness and ability to travel occasionally to assist sales, visit other offices, or meet vendors, including domestic and overseas destinations
