Job Description
The Valve Engineer at Zeeco is responsible for providing expertise on valves for various projects, including reviewing engineering packages, developing specifications, coordinating with suppliers, and performing inspections, primarily based in Tulsa with occasional travel. The role involves technical development, customer specification implementation, and ensuring timely delivery of valve components.
Key Responsibilities
- Review project engineering and sales packages to determine equipment scope
- Provide cost estimates for valves and inline piping components
- Interpret and implement customer specifications for equipment
- Develop relationships with global valve suppliers to ensure compliance and timely delivery
- Create ISA data sheets for various valves and inline components
- Coordinate with mechanical drafting team to ensure proper design dimensions and clearances
- Perform inspection and testing of equipment prior to shipment, possibly with customer presence
- Travel domestically and internationally to support sales, vendor meetings, and project needs
Requirements
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering
- 2 years of industry experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience in reviewing project engineering and sales packages to determine the scope of equipment to be supplied
- Ability to provide cost estimates for valves and other inline piping components
- Experience reading customer specifications and implementing those specifications as they apply to the AS SOLD equipment
- Ability to develop relationships with valve suppliers worldwide to ensure compliance with customer specifications, testing, and on-time delivery
- Experience developing ISA data sheets for manual ball, gate, globe, and check valves, as well as ISA data sheets for control valves, automated valves, dampers, and various other inline components
- Ability to work with the mechanical drafting team to ensure proper face-to-face dimensions and clearance in the mechanical design
- Experience performing inspection and testing of equipment prior to shipment from fabrication facilities, including with the customer present
- Willingness and ability to perform occasional travel domestically and overseas to assist the sales group, visit other offices, or meet vendors
