The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for reviewing project scope, coordinating equipment design and drawings, managing budgets and schedules, and communicating with customers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Review Shop Order files to confirm scope of supply based on customer specifications and sales quotations
Confirm equipment selection and design, perform calculations and create sketches to establish equipment design
Coordinate drafting activities to ensure all required drawings are completed and properly instructed
Review customer mark-up prints and direct drafting on disposition of changes
Establish and track project cost budgets in collaboration with sales and cost specialists
Maintain and manage project delivery schedules, coordinating drafting, purchasing, manufacturing, and quality control
Pre-order materials to meet delivery deadlines
Inform Quality Control of customer job specifications
Coordinate technical and commercial correspondence with customers, end users, sales reps, and outside consultants
Instruct drafting and support staff on drawing requirements and distribution
Notify sales and estimating departments of scope or design changes affecting pricing
Coordinate price revisions and communicate with customers regarding cost adjustments
Notify Order Entry of revisions to Shop Orders and ensure proper documentation updates
Requirements
B.S. degree in Engineering Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related field and/or 6-10 years of related experience in a manufacturing environment or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have personal computer skills.
