The Process Design Engineer supports the flare gas recovery product line by designing and specifying equipment, developing process diagrams and data sheets, and participating in process hazard analysis, with opportunities for research, field support, and travel.
Key Responsibilities
Size and specify equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, pressure relief valves, and heat exchangers
Develop P&IDs, data sheets, process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and control operation philosophy documents
Participate in process hazard analysis
Support research and development activities related to equipment
Provide field support for equipment installation and operation
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in engineering chemical or mechanical engineering (preferred).
Minimum of 5 years experience with facility design and operation, with field process engineering experience preferred.
Experience in the design and operation of refining petrochemical processing equipment.
Experience in sizing and specification of equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, pressure relief valves, and heat exchangers.
Ability to develop P ID s, data sheets, process flow diagrams, heat and material balances, and control operation philosophy documents.
Experience with process hazard analysis.
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, approximately 10% of the time.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Experience with process simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS or Symmetry.
