Job Description

The Instrument and Controls Engineer - Flares is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining instrumentation and control systems for flare applications, supporting Zeeco's combustion and environmental solutions in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, engineer, and develop instrumentation and control systems for flare applications
  • Specify and select appropriate control components and instrumentation
  • Perform testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of control systems
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and industry standards in control system design

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instrumentation and controls engineering, specifically related to flare systems or combustion systems.
  • Proven experience in designing, engineering, and troubleshooting instrumentation and control systems for flare applications.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and codes related to instrumentation and controls in combustion and environmental systems.
  • Ability to develop control system specifications, perform control logic programming, and validate control system performance.
  • Experience with control system hardware such as PLCs, DCS, and safety instrumented systems used in flare and combustion systems.
  • Strong understanding of safety standards and safety instrumented systems (SIS) applicable to flare and combustion systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze complex control system issues.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
  • Physical ability to work in an office environment and perform site visits as required.
