Job Description
The Crater is responsible for fabricating wooden crates and packing items, including large or irregularly shaped products, using woodworking tools, reading blueprints and specifications, and loading/unloading trucks with equipment like cranes and forklifts.
Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate wooden crates or boxes using hand and powered woodworking tools
- Pack items, including large and odd-shaped products, into crates
- Read blueprints, shipping notices, and specifications to determine container requirements
- Inspect products to determine appropriate container size, materials, supports, and braces
- Load and unload trucks using overhead crane, forklift, and pallet jack
Requirements
- Ability to fabricate wooden crates or boxes using woodworking hand tools and powered tools.
- Experience in packing various items, including large and/or odd-shaped products.
- Ability to read blueprints, shipping notices, and other specifications to determine the size and shape of containers, materials to be used, and types of supports and braces.
- Experience in inspecting products to determine appropriate container size and materials.
- Responsibility for loading and unloading trucks using overhead cranes, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
