Job Description
A senior backend software engineer responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable microservices and distributed systems using Java and Spring technologies, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality financial industry solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Design, develop, and implement new software components and functionalities.
- Manage project tasks, provide status updates, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Coordinate with testing teams to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested and automate test scripts where possible.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies and solutions.
- Design secure, maintainable, and robust technical solutions following best practices and standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents and guidelines.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
- Contribute to department goals and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements
- 8 years of professional backend engineering experience with Java J2EE and related JVM technologies.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Spring ecosystem including Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration.
- Proven experience designing technical solutions from business requirements, including making pragmatic architecture decisions.
- Solid track record in building and maintaining microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols and designing consuming REST APIs.
- Experience implementing web application security best practices such as secure coding, authentication and authorization (authN authZ), and OWASP awareness.
- Strong SQL and RDBMS skills with Oracle, MySQL, or equivalent databases.
- Proficiency with Git, modern IDEs, and collaborative development workflows.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience working in Agile teams with shared ownership and iterative delivery.
