Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and JVM technologies, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable microservices and distributed systems within the financial industry, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and providing technical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions addressing business requirements and non-functional needs
- Design and implement new software components and functionalities
- Manage project tasks, providing status updates to stakeholders
- Coordinate with testing teams to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested and automate tests where possible
- Develop and maintain integrations with third-party solutions
- Create robust, secure, and maintainable technical solutions following best practices
- Produce technical documentation including design documents, guidelines, and standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members
Requirements
- 8 years of professional backend engineering experience with Java J2EE and related JVM technologies.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Spring ecosystem including Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration.
- Proven experience designing technical solutions from business requirements, including making pragmatic architecture decisions.
- Solid track record in building and maintaining microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols and designing consuming REST APIs.
- Experience implementing web application security best practices such as secure coding, authentication and authorization (authN authZ), and OWASP awareness.
- Strong SQL and RDBMS skills with Oracle, MySQL, or equivalent databases.
- Proficiency with Git, modern IDEs, and collaborative development workflows.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience working in Agile teams with shared ownership and iterative delivery.
