Job Description
A Senior Software Engineer specializing in Java and JVM technologies, responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining secure, scalable microservices and distributed systems within the financial industry, while leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior team members.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop solutions based on business requirements and technical specifications.
- Design, implement, and lead the development of new software components and functionalities.
- Manage project tasks, provide status updates, and ensure timely delivery of key initiatives.
- Coordinate with testing teams to ensure solutions are thoroughly tested and automate testing where possible.
- Evaluate and integrate third-party technologies and solutions.
- Design secure, maintainable, and robust technical solutions aligned with best practices.
- Create and review technical documentation, including design documents and standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior team members.
Requirements
- 8 years of professional backend engineering experience with Java J2EE and related JVM technologies.
- Strong hands-on expertise with Spring ecosystem including Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, and Spring Integration.
- Proven experience designing technical solutions from business requirements, including making pragmatic architecture decisions.
- Solid track record in building and maintaining microservices and distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of HTTP protocols and designing consuming REST APIs.
- Experience implementing web application security best practices such as secure coding, authentication and authorization (authN authZ), and OWASP awareness.
- Strong SQL and RDBMS skills with Oracle, MySQL, or equivalent databases.
- Proficiency with Git, modern IDEs, and collaborative development workflows.
- Working knowledge of Linux environments.
- Experience working in Agile teams with shared ownership and iterative delivery.
