Job Description

The Senior Geothermal Reservoir Engineer is responsible for leading reservoir engineering activities, including well testing, modeling, and forecasting, to optimize geothermal field development and performance. The role involves collaboration across teams, data analysis, and providing actionable recommendations to support the company's goal of advancing geothermal energy technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, oversee, and interpret well tests and surveillance programs to assess reservoir properties.
  • Build, calibrate, and maintain reservoir models to match field data and perform sensitivity and uncertainty analyses.
  • Generate production and injectivity forecasts under various operational scenarios and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Maintain high-quality datasets and develop automation tools for analysis and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to align strategies and communicate technical findings effectively.

Requirements

  • A B.S. or higher degree in Reservoir Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of reservoir engineering experience in geothermal and/or analogous subsurface industries such as oil and gas, hydrogeology, or CCS, with demonstrated ownership of well tests and reservoir modeling work.
  • Proven technical skills in well testing and surveillance design and interpretation of PTA build-up, falloff step-rate, interference connectivity tests, injectivity productivity, and tracer-based diagnostics, with strong data quality control.
  • Experience in developing and updating geothermal reservoir models with wellbore models, calibrating against field data, and integrating geologic constraints into conceptual and numerical models.
  • Ability to perform history matching by systematically adjusting parameters, understanding non-uniqueness, and communicating uncertainty and model limitations.
  • Ability to generate production and injectivity forecasts under multiple operational and development scenarios, including uncertainty ranges.
  • Skill in translating model outputs into decision-ready recommendations, including impacts, operational tradeoffs, and key risks.
  • Excellent cross-functional communication skills, including writing clear technical memos, presenting tradeoffs, and collaborating effectively with operations, drilling, and facilities teams.
