Job Description
The Interconnection Transmission Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategies to secure interconnection and transmission rights for geothermal energy projects, managing application processes, and coordinating with internal teams and external utilities to ensure timely project development and in-service dates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for interconnection and transmission rights acquisition
- File applications for interconnection and transmission requests across WECC
- Manage processes related to interconnection and transmission to ensure timely project delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams and third-party consultants on interconnection and transmission matters
- Build and maintain relationships with utility partners and stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience in managing interconnection and transmission rights processes for energy projects, specifically with a focus on renewable energy or geothermal projects.
- Ability to build and execute a strategy for interconnection and transmission, including planning when, where, and how to file new requests.
- Experience in managing the application process for interconnection and transmission rights across WECC or similar regional transmission organizations.
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functionally with internal teams and external third-party consultants to ensure timely delivery of interconnection and transmission outcomes.
- Strong relationship-building skills to develop key relationships with utilities and other relevant stakeholders involved in interconnection and transmission processes.
- Experience in managing and filing interconnection requests and transmission service requests to meet project timelines.
- Ability to manage multiple interconnection and transmission projects simultaneously, ensuring all are aligned with project in-service goals.
- Knowledge of the requirements, procedures, and regulations related to interconnection and transmission rights within WECC or similar regional markets.
- Experience in developing and implementing plans for interconnection and transmission approval processes to ensure successful project placement in-service.
