Job Description
The Equipment Technician supports geothermal exploration projects by operating and maintaining field equipment, transporting personnel and gear, and performing physical and mechanical tasks in remote outdoor environments on a rotating schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Transport equipment and personnel safely to and from field sites
- Operate and maintain UTVs and light mechanical equipment at field locations
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Be eligible to work in the U.S.
- High School diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Valid driver s license without any major infractions in the last three years.
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and others.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving skills, professionalism.
- Possess a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail.
- Must be self-motivated and work with minimum direct supervision in small, remote teams.
- Able to commute long distances of 300 miles and work for extended periods of 14-day rotations.
- Comfortable working outdoors continuously in the elements to a high operational tempo.
- Ability to perform physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks including periodic bending and kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling 50 lbs.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English at a level which will permit the employee to accurately understand and communicate information to perform the job duties safely and efficiently.
- Possess good mechanical and technical aptitude, with competency operating and maintaining vehicles and equipment.
- Comfortable using a GPS and navigating in remote settings.
- Able to use computers, specifically Google products such as Google Docs, Sheets, and Directories.
- Minimum 5 years practical working experience in remote wilderness environments.
- Extensive experience safely operating and maintaining diesel trucks, trailers, and UTVs.
- Proficient in loading, unloading, hauling, and backing up trailers, both on and off-road.
- Competent in diagnosing mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in the field and making appropriate repairs as required.
- All pre-employment drug testing and background check required, with passing results.
Benefits & Perks
Compensation of $25.00 per hour plus production bonus typically $350 to $450 per day
Per Diem provided at GSA standard rate of $59 per day
Lodging covered by the company or reimbursed at GSA rate if unavailable
Company vehicle provided during work rotations
Eligibility for benefits following a 90-day probation period
